News (Show and Tell)

We will be starting our News next week. The children will have an allocated day that they will tell their news.

Each week there will be a different topic.
News is part of our Talking and Listening program. This is an important time that gives the children the opportunity to talk to the class about a topic in a structured way.
For some children, this easy but other children need lots of support and encouragement.
Please help your child prepare something simple for the topic each week.
I will send the Topic sheet home tomorrow.

Responsible Pet Ownership Program

We had a visit from Mrs Spiers and her dog Millie today.
They came to teach us about dog safety:

We learned about...

*When dogs should be left alone
*Things we should not do to dogs
*How  you can tell if a dog is happy, frightened or angry
*A safe way to approach and greet a dog
*What to do if approached by an unknown or aggressive dog.

First we learned what to if a dog was angry.
Lauren and Joshua were asked to hold the posters.

Then we learned about the safe way to approach a dog.
Nataya and Kiara were asked to hold the posters.

Amber, Kasey, Hunter and Sienna came out the front to demonstrate  the safe way to go up to a dog.

I was very proud of KR today.
They were very good listeners and had beautiful manners.
Well done!

Just a reminder that KR go to library tomorrow (Tuesday) so don't forget to put your library books into your school bag.

See you tomorrow

Welcome

Thank you to the parents that were able to make 'Meet the Teacher' today.
I  am looking forward to a wonderful year where we go on an exciting journey learning lots of new things and having fun on the way.

If you were unable to make it today, I will send home the information sheet.

If you have any questions, please feel free to come and see me.

Just a reminder that we will be having our vision  screening on Wednesday. Please return the form if you would like your child's eyes tested.
I will send another form home on Tuesday in case you put the first one in a safe place. This is a habit of mine.
